Bucket Lists for Beginners (at any age)
If there is anything we have learnt from recent years, it is that life is unpredictable. One of the trends I enjoyed seeing on social media in 2020 and 2021 was all the bread making!
Roller-skating has also become a trend brought back by our need to find new hobbies while we were staying safe at home.
So, while we’ve all been trying new things, maybe it’s time to create a bucket list!
Why a bucket list?
Because it’s important to always have something to look forward to in life.
Your bucket list is a personal list of all the things you would like to make, do, or experience. It doesn’t have to be outrageous (like jumping out of an aeroplane). But if wild is your calling – then go for it!
The idea is that your bucket list is about what YOU want out of this life.
Start small – become greater
When you first start writing your bucket list, start by writing down some things that you could do this week (or even today!). It could be as simple as trying that recipe you jotted down on TV or writing a letter to a friend you haven’t seen in a while.
If your bucket list starts with some attainable goals that you can tick off straight away, you are more likely to actively pursue other, greater items on your list.
Take inspiration from everywhere
After you’ve started the process of writing down things that you’d like to do, you may find that inspiration can hit you at any time!
Embrace it.
It is healthy for your mind to be looking forward to new experiences – no matter how out of reach they may seem right now!
Think of the things you wanted to do as a child. Maybe you wanted to be a princess when you grew up? As an adult that could translate to seeing the castles in Scotland or staying somewhere luxurious and pampering yourself.
Share your list with friends and family
A great way to keep your bucket list from gaining dust is to share your ideas with your friends and family. They may inspire you to add to your list too! Or they may even join in with you.
How special would that be?
